Turn off Highway 306, and the road narrows through a canopy of heritage live oaks draped in Spanish moss. The gate opens at the end of the lane.
Whatever you were carrying into this retreat starts to get lighter. You haven’t even gotten out of the car yet.
Our team walks everyone through. Main House is the homestead. Five private farmhouses fan out through the oaks, each one with a private hot tub and fire pit outside the door. The Historic Cabin and The Pharmacy offer something a little different: spaces from the 1800s, fully restored with every modern comfort.
The property centers on a limestone community fire pit.
No other groups. No shared spaces with strangers. Just your team in the trees.
The covered patio sits under two giant live oaks, steps from the resort pool. Adirondack chairs scattered through the trees. The birds are constant and beautiful.
Nobody’s scheduled for anything except drinks and dinner at the top of the evening. Take a slow walk, find a spot in the grass, let the trees do their thing.
The patio fills up for cocktail hour and your private 2-step instructor is setting up to get you ready for the next night at Gruene Hall.
Then dinner. Everything prepared by your in-house chef, who’s had the smoker going since this morning. After dinner, the property is yours: fire pits, yard games, hot tubs. The night
goes wherever the group takes it.
The limestone fire pit goes until it goes until you do.
The agenda ended hours ago. Nobody noticed.
Coffee and tea are ready when you are. Breakfast is out: chef-prepared, unhurried, no reason to rush.
You can’t remember the last time a rooster woke you up.
Some people linger on their porches. Nobody’s late for anything.
High-definition projector, event venue set up and ready. The doors open to nature. The breeze comes through.
The all-day snack table is stocked and waiting.
Your team is locked in in a way that doesn’t happen back at the office, because they spent
the evening building community with coworkers, because everything is taken care of and nothing else is competing for their attention.
The session closes. Camp Hideaway takes over. The Hill Country Olympics. Team competitions spread across the property, hosted by us, designed to find out what your team is made of when the whiteboard comes down.
Everyone competes. Nobody holds back. By the time the group breaks for lunch, you’ve learned more about each other than you would in a week of back-to-back meetings.
Gruene Hall is 8 minutes down the road, the oldest continuously operating dance hall in Texas, running since 1878. The Guadalupe River for tubing or floating. Historic downtown
Gruene for an unhurried afternoon.
Or stay. The pool is all yours. The best retreat memories rarely happen on the agenda.
The oldest dance hall in Texas, still running since 1878. Cold beer, live music, real Texas history.
Tubing, fishing, or just floating. One of the most beloved rivers in the Hill Country, minutes from the property.
Galleries, shops, and lunch. A few blocks of unhurried Hill Country charm, walkable from Gruene Hall.
After a day out, the group comes home. The fire pits go back on. Hot tubs, yard games. Someone brings up what happened at the Hill Country Olympics.
The night ends when the group decides it does.
No rush. Breakfast is ready when you are. Another chef-prepared spread, coffee, juice. Everything you need for a slow morning.
The oaks look the same as they did when you arrived. The team doesn’t.
One last breath of fresh air with your team. Lingering conversations amidst the farmhouses. The agenda is yours. Take your time heading out.
